TVUS appearance / need for CT?
💡 TOA = a severe complication of PID (ascending infection, gonococcus/chlamydia/anaerobes). PID spectrum: salpingitis → pyosalpinx (cogwheel sign + Doppler hyperemia) → tubo-ovarian complex → TOA. Clinically fever + pelvic pain + adnexal mass + purulent discharge.
