🫀 Lille Model (Alcoholic Hepatitis Steroid Response)

Predict corticosteroid response in severe alcoholic hepatitis with the Lille model.

Lille Model (Alcoholic Hepatitis Steroid Response)

Age (years)
Albumin (day 0) (g/L)
Bilirubin (day 0) (µmol/L)
Bilirubin (day 7) (µmol/L)
Prothrombin time (s)
Renal insufficiency (Cr > 1.3 mg/dL)

When to use

Decide whether to continue steroids after 7 days.

How it works

Uses age, albumin (g/L), bilirubin at day 0 and day 7 (µmol/L), prothrombin time and renal insufficiency; score = exp(−R)/(1+exp(−R)). > 0.45 = non-responder.

Key points

  • Calculated after 7 days of corticosteroids.
  • > 0.45 identifies non-responders with poor 6-month survival.
  • Non-response prompts stopping steroids and reassessment.
