🫀 MELD-Na Score Calculator
Calculate the MELD-Na score (UNOS) to estimate 90-day mortality and transplant priority in end-stage liver disease.
MELD-Na Score Calculator
Bilirubin (mg/dL)
INR
Creatinine (mg/dL)
Sodium (mmol/L)
Dialysis ≥ 2× in past week
When to use
Prognosis and liver-transplant prioritisation.
How it works
MELD = 3.78·ln(bilirubin) + 11.2·ln(INR) + 9.57·ln(creatinine) + 6.43; labs floored at 1.0, creatinine capped at 4.0 (or with dialysis). MELD-Na adds a sodium term when MELD > 11.
Key points
- Higher score = higher 90-day mortality and transplant priority.
- Creatinine is set to 4.0 with dialysis ≥ 2×/week.
- Sodium is bounded to 125–137 in the formula.
