🩸 TASH Score (Trauma Massive Transfusion)
Calculate the TASH score to predict the probability of massive transfusion in severe trauma from seven weighted parameters.
TASH Score (Trauma Massive Transfusion)
Sex
Systolic BP (mmHg)
Heart rate (/min)
Hemoglobin (g/dL)
Base excess (mmol/L)
FAST free fluid
Complex long-bone / pelvic fracture
When to use
Early prediction of massive transfusion need to trigger the massive transfusion protocol.
How it works
Weighted points from sex, SBP, HR, hemoglobin, base excess, FAST and complex long-bone/pelvic fracture (0–28). ≥ 16 corresponds to > 50% probability via logistic conversion.
Key points
- ≥ 16 points → massive transfusion probability > 50%.
- Use the official logistic calculator for an exact percentage.
- Predicts massive transfusion need, not simply whether to transfuse.
