❤️ Pulse Pressure
Calculate pulse pressure to reflect stroke volume and arterial compliance.
Pulse Pressure
Systolic BP (mmHg)
Diastolic BP (mmHg)
When to use
Identify wide or narrow pulse pressure states.
How it works
Pulse pressure = systolic − diastolic BP. Normal ~40 mmHg; wide > 60, narrow < 25.
Key points
- Narrow → low-output states (tamponade, hypovolaemia).
- Wide → arterial stiffness, aortic regurgitation, high output.
- Interpret with the full haemodynamic picture.
